Tour Details

Our two-day Sacred Valley Machu Picchu tour offers the best of the Inca civilization. The 2-day tour of the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu takes you to the main archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas ending at the world wonder, Machu Picchu.

During the first day, together with our professional guide, you will visit the main archeological sites of the Sacred Valley of Cusco. And to taste the best of Peruvian food. We will offer you a traditional lunch from a town in the Sacred Valley. Lunch will be a Peruvian buffet at a local restaurant in Urubamba.

The second day of the tour is dedicated to visiting Machu Picchu citadel. Here our local guide will be giving a detailed tour of the citadel where you will discover more about the Inca civilization.

We recommend you to spend a few days in Cusco or to acclimatize to the high altitude climate to avoid altitude sickness.

Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to take you in our private transportation through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be Pisac:

Pisac

Famous for its astronomical observatory, this beautiful town has a traditional market, where you can see the different crafts of the locals and an archaeological zone where our local guide will give you a guided tour of the complex.

After touring this archaeological site we will take you to the main square with its cobbled streets, where you can buy handmade crafts.

After visiting this beautiful place, we will go to the town of Urubamba to enjoy a delicious Peruvian buffet lunch.

Ollantaytambo

Continuing with our tour we will take you to Ollantaytambo, a beautiful town with narrow cobbled streets, which was once the administrative capital of the Inca empire. This town is almost intact since the time of the Incas. Ollantaytambo is a clear testimony of the progress of Inca architecture and urbanism.

Here we will go to the train station where you will board the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. The train ride takes you through wonderful landscapes. You will be able to see Andean farms, grazing animals and Andean villages that are located along the Urubamba River.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to the accommodation where you will spend the night. After settling in the accommodation you will have free time so you can have lunch, rest or explore the town of Aguas Calientes. Very popular for its hot springs considered medicinal.

At night you will meet our guide who will give you directions for our long-awaited day.

Day 2Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Early in the morning the hotel staff will give you a box of snacks. Then you will be transferred to the bus terminal where you will board the bus that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Once at the entrance to the citadel, your passport will be verified. So bring your original passport. After passing the control we will begin our tour of the citadel with our guide who will explain more about the Inca Empire.

Our guide will explain more about the lifestyle of the Incas and the function that each area of ​​the citadel fulfilled. At the end of the tour you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own. If you have booked a trek to Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu mountain, our guide will be directing you to the entrance.

We recommend going to Puerta del Sol. This place offers spectacular views of the citadel and its surroundings. It is the entry point to the citadel for those who walk the Inca Trail.

After this experience, you will board the bus back to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival you will have free time so you can have lunch or walk around the town.

Finally, you will board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Here you will board our private transport and will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco. We will be arriving at 09:00 PM.
