Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Cusco Tour – Palccoyo Mountain

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco to take you in our private transport through the South Valley of Cusco. Travel time will be about two and a half hours to the town of Checacupe.

During the journey you will be able to see Andean villages, grazing animals and the imposing mountains that surround Cusco.

Checacupe is a small colonial town that houses a colonial church and a rope bridge that was built by ancient civilizations similar to the last Inca bridge, Q’eswachaka.

Here we will stop to enjoy a delicious typical and nutritious breakfast, you will also have time to buy some snacks or use the hygienic services.

We will start our trek to the top of Palccoyo Mountain, during the tour you will be able to see and interact with remote communities that keep their traditions and cultures intact. You will also pass through the Stone Forest, a very peculiar and interesting place.

Upon reaching the summit after a walk of no more than an hour, you will be able to get a closer look at the imposing peak of Ausangate that dominates the southern horizon of Cusco.

After touring the landscape that houses this mountain, we will begin the descent to the starting point of the walk. Our transport will be waiting for us here.

After boarding our transport we will return to the town of Checacupe. Here we will enjoy a delicious typical local lunch. Finally we will return to the city of Cusco.
